Two Portland men sentenced on charges of sexual abuse
On Monday, two Portland-area men, ages 53 and 42, were sentenced to a collective 46 years in prison for sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy in a Medford motel and video-recording the incident. The incident reportedly took place back in March of 2010 after one of the men had met the teen on an online Internet site that connects boys and men together for online sex chats.
Government prosecutors have characterized the men as predatory sex offenders with a history of molestation of boys. Both men were charged with using a minor to produce visual depictions of sexually explicit conduct, and a number of other crimes.
The 53-year-old man apparently met the teen, a high school freshman, online in early 2010. The two reportedly traded sexually explicit photos and later made plans to meet in Medford. The first meeting took place in late March of 2010. During that meeting, the man videotaped various sex acts with the boy.
A month after the first meeting, the boy agreed to meet with the 43-year-old man, an acquaintance. During the second meeting, both men took turns photographing various sex acts with the boy.
Days after the second incident, the boy's mother found out about the incident and contacted authorities, who found sexually explicit videos of himself with the older man and contact numbers for both men.
When authorities searched the older man's home around two weeks later, they found images of other boys both men had been involved with.
