Oregon police arrest man for alleged involvement in robbery

Police arrest a number of people every year in and around Portland in connection with crimes. A considerable number of these arrests are for alleged robberies and other violent crimes. An arrest for a robbery in Oregon can have serious consequences.

Oregon City police recently arrested a man while he was allegedly trying to rob a production studio. According to police, the man was walking around the studio with a company bag over his shoulder. Upon being confronted by a late-working employee, the man allegedly pulled out a knife. The employee tried to call police on his cell phone but the accused reportedly asked him not to do that.

The accused man then started walking away from the employee. The employee quickly went upstairs and called the police. A police dog found the accused man. Police arrested him in the basement of the studio where they claim he was hiding.

The accused is facing charges of robbery and burglary. He was also charged with unlawful use of a weapon, menacing and possessing a restricted weapon. The arrested man also has prior convictions for drug crimes and assault and weapon-related offenses.

Oregon state law deals seriously with robbery. If charges of robbery are accompanied by the use or attempt to use a dangerous weapon, the consequences may be very grave. A person may have to face a long prison sentence for the crime if convicted. During a criminal trial, the criminal history of the accused may also be taken into consideration by the court.

A person accused of a felony must build a strong defense. It is advisable to consult with a legal professional who will make sure to protect an accused person's rights.
